Once a trademark has been registered, there is a complicated legal procedure in order to have it subsequently cancelled.
One should therefore act early to prevent potential legal problems down the line. Karanovic & Nikolic have recently commenced their new trademark monitoring service which covers all registered trademarks in both national and international databases . When we notice that an application has been filed for the registration of a trademark, and where that application is confusingly similar to, or the same as, a trademark of our client, we can file an objection with the Intellectual Property Office, therefore preventing the registration of the relevant trademark. This helps avoid the alternative complicated, time consuming and costly cancellation procedure.
We provide trademark monitoring services in all the jurisdictions of the former Yugoslavia: Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and Macedonia.
