KN German Desk
AND NOW IN GERMAN! WELCOME TO OUR GERMAN DESK!
In our 15 years dedicated to advising clients, we noticed that they appreciate being provided legal advice in their native language. Because of this constantly growing interest, and in order to meet our client’s needs, we established a German speaking team, specialised in both the necessary legal and language skills to support our clients from Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the development and execution of their projects in Serbia and in other countries in the region where we have our offices.
In this way we ensure that clients are not only in the best hands regarding legal services, but also that they always can feel free to discuss about all their affairs and projects with our lawyers in their native language which is more comfortable for them.
In addition to English, Serbian and Macedonian, our clients can rely on the fact that they will be supported by lawyers not translators providing full legal services (written and oral) in German.
Today our German Team consists of 7 lawyers practicing in the following areas:
· M&A, Privatisation,

KN Focus on Energy 2010
KN FOCUS ON ENERGY 2010
KN Focus on Energy Book which covers Serbia (Kosovo), Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro markets and business opportunities.
In recent years, demand for energy has surgedand South East Europe suffered a much documented and traumatic transition from a planned economy to series of free market economies. Energy consumption in the region is much higher than EU member states. Energy production on the other hand is quite low, with most power plants still utilizing technology that dates from the middle of the last century, which ultimately has an impact on the surrounding environment.
Transmission systems are seriously underdeveloped and the energy trade market is yet to be liberalized. The potential for the development and use of renewable energy resources is huge. All of these countries have capacity to harness and exploit water, wind, sun, biomass and geothermal energy for the production of energy and heat.
With the regional best practice and an overview of present options under the energy law, KN Focus on Energy is a comprehensive guide for practitioners and stakeholders in this area.

This firm is twice as large as its top competitors and is reputed as “probably the best local outfit, benefiting from excellent referrals from global law firms.” Twenty-eight of its 50 lawyers focus on corporate M&A transactions, and market sources confirm that the firm “definitely stands out by deal volume alone.” Recent highlights include advising PepsiCo on the potential acquisition of a leading Serbian food and snacks company and, in line with the more active real estate market, advising Merrill Lynch on its potential acquisition of a stake in large Serbian commercial property company MPC Properties. On the privatisation front, the firm’s client roster includes Lukoil, CEZ and Allianz. According to sources, the firm is also “leading the way in raising the standard of IP services, for example by organising meetings between industry and government.” “Star lawyer” Dragan Karanovic is lauded for his “exceptionally practical approach and detailed analysis, qualities which are both still rare in the marketplace.” His colleague Dejan Nikolic wins praise as “a tough negotiator.”
