City of Belgrade Requires Businesses to Pay an Environmental Protection and Enhancement Fee

A new decision has been passed by the City of Belgrade requiring legal entities and entrepreneurs that own or lease business premises in the city to file an application for the payment of a fee for the protection and enhancement of the environment.

Application Deadline Approaching

The deadline for filing the application for payment to the Public Revenue Administration is 2 February 2015. Following an entity or entrepreneur's application, the Public Revenue Administration will determine the annual amount of the fee, to be paid in monthly instalments by the 15th of each month for the previous month.

Fee Calculation Methodology

The fee is calculated based on the amount of RSD 2.64 per square meter of premises used for business activities. Apartments which are used only for the performance of business activities are considered to be business premises for the purposes of calculating the fee.
